SHIPPING SERVICES
Barge Transport
IBT has dedicated barges that service the Baton Rouge/New Orleans-to-Houston service lane with a three-day transit time. These facilities, located on the Intracoastal Waterway, are unaffected by environmental variations on the Mississippi River – such as fluctuating water levels – which would prevent a lack of service when our clients need us most.
Our barges are solely allocated to this service. With seven to ten days of lead time, we will have a barge available at our facility to load and begin the Eastbound or Westbound transit of your cargo. Currently, we have a barge that departs every six to eight days.
Storage
Containers can be stored at our Houston or Baton Rouge terminals until they are loaded onto a vessel in time to meet port cut-off dates or delivery deadlines. We offer 30 days free time at all of our facilities.
TRUCKING SERVICES
Dray Moves
IBT will transport the dray to our barge terminals from the shipper’s location. We will also pick up from the port prior to the last free day to eliminate demurrage fees. By integrating the dray move with the barge transportation, carrier or equipment delays from using outside dray carriers are also eliminated.

Additional Logistics Services
Through our relationships with other logistics partners, we are able to offer other services like transloading or warehousing. This would depend on the location and the product, but we are willing to accommodate any request.
